Counselling can help you explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and experiences in a way that helps you better understand yourself and your relationships with others. Many people seek counselling for anxiety, stress, low mood, bereavement, trauma, relationship difficulties, work pressures, self-esteem issues, or simply because life feels overwhelming.
Our counsellors will not tell you what decisions to make, give personal opinions, or judge you. Instead, we work alongside you to help you discover your own understanding, strengths and ways forward. Counselling may help you make positive changes, improve coping strategies, or feel more able to manage life’s challenges.
Person-centred counselling is based on the belief that every person has the ability and inner resources to grow, heal and move towards positive change when given the right environment and support.
In person-centred therapy, the focus is on you as an individual. Your counsellor will listen with empathy, acceptance and understanding, helping you feel heard and valued without judgement. Sessions move at your pace, allowing you to explore what feels important to you in a safe and respectful space.
Rather than directing the session or offering advice, the counsellor supports you in gaining greater self-awareness and confidence in your own choices and experiences.
